It’s World Bee Day on 20 May! Would you like to find out more about these busy insects? Then we have an exciting activity for you on Saturday, 23 May and Sunday, 24. May 2026.
- Real bee experts from beefuture will share fascinating facts about bees and honey production. Watch the beekeepers at the demonstration extractor as they uncap and spin the honeycombs, then taste the sweet result straight away at the information stand.
- Take part in an exciting bee rally and put your bee knowledge to the test. Pick up your rally sheet at the HOB-Center information desk and off you go!
- Our bee adventure trail will give you clues to the correct answers. What do bees actually do, how can they be protected and how does the honey get into the jar? You can find out all this during your visit to the FunPark.
As a thank you for taking part in the bee rally, all children will receive a seed mix for their own wildflower meadow.* And your parents will get a discount coupon for the LECHUZA-Store Zirndorf.* Here you’ll find a wide range of high‑quality planters with integrated irrigation systems from LECHUZA, as well as PON substrates and accessories – ideal for making an active contribution to bees and other insects with the right planting on your balcony or terrace.
Please follow the on-site signage for handing in the rally sheets.
What is World Bee Day?
World Bee Day is all about bees and their importance for our biodiversity. It was launched by the UN in 2018 to raise awareness of the threat to bees and to inform people about their important role as pollinators for wild plants and crops.
Our commitment to bees
In cooperation with beefuture, we adopted our first bee colony at the PLAYMOBIL FunPark in spring 2024. You can therefore watch the bees at work live on site. A further fourteen bee colonies were also established between 2024 and 2025 on the neighbouring company premises of the Horst Brandstätter Group, which the PLAYMOBIL-FunPark is part of. Our bees are cared for by the experienced beekeepers at beefuture, with great emphasis placed on keeping them in the most species‑appropriate way possible.
