ESA Space Days from 30.5. - 2.6.

Let’s take off to space! From Thursday, 30 May to Sunday, 2 June, the ESA Space Days will take place at the PLAYMOBIL FunPark. In co-operation with the European Space Agency (ESA), we have planned plenty of fun activities for you all about space.

The highlight and grand finale of the Bavarian Whitsun holidays at the FunPark will be the visit of ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer on Sunday, 2 June, who will bring the PLAYMOBIL figure ‘ROBert’ back to Zirndorf after its journey into space. The little robot, known from the PLAYMOBIL YouTube series ‘ROBert knows, visited Maurer on the International Space Station ISS at the end of 2022. Now the astronaut is accompanying his adventurous friend from weightlessness back to his Franconian hometown. After the handover at the HOB Centre, Matthias Maurer will answer selected questions from YOU about his work and everyday life on the space station.

The daily programme from Thursday, 30 May has plenty of action in store for you. With ‘Bungee Trampoline’, ‘Aero Space’ and ‘Aqua Balls’, you can experience weightlessness in space and put your courage to the test. An exciting space training programme with various tasks awaits all young astronauts at the ESA's ‘Mission X’: ‘train like an astronaut’ rally featuring adapted activities from the Mission X school project by ESA and UKSA (UK Space Agency). You can also build your own rocket and take it home with you during creative craft activities. We will also start collecting your questions for Sunday’s interview with Matthias Maurer from Thursday on. What have you always wanted to know about space? Submit your question at the HOB Centre Info and with a bit of luck it will be answered in front of the large audience! For all those who can't be there on Sunday, we will also show the interview on our online channels after the event.

Pirate Rico and the ESA mascot PAXI are already looking forward to meeting you during this exciting space adventure!
